H.R. 1094 and S. 459

From ARRL.org:  Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act Re-Introduced

On May 19th, 2025, I moved this story back to the top of my page after listening to the ARRL and their efforts discussed at forums at Hamcation, as well as recently when I was at Dayton Hamvention.  I have also included some sample letters, but the ARRL by themselves are not going to make this happen.  Don’t complain about HOA rules unless you also are willing to do something about it.  Make your voice heard by your elected officials.

Homeowner association rules often prevent Amateur Radio operators from installing antennas at their homes even though Amateur Radio has proven to be essential in emergencies and natural disasters such as hurricanes when other means of communication fail.

U.S. Senators Roger Wicker, R-Miss., and Richard Blumenthal, D- Conn., and Representatives August Pfluger, R-Tex., and Joe Courtney, D-Conn. announced their joint re-introduction of legislation in the Senate and House to restore the right to Amateur Radio operators to install the antennas necessary to serve their communities.

To help make this happen, please let your elected officials know how you feel and ask them for support of this important bill.  Contact your Senator today!  Click here to locate information regarding your Senator.

Also, you’ll want to contact your House Representative.  You can edit up one of the letters below for your elected official in the House of Representatives (or send them an email from the contact listed on their page).  To find your elected official in the House of Representatives click here.
